This weekend, 27–29 June, Scone Palace in Perthshire will trade its quiet gardens for big laughs. The inaugural Patter at the Palace brings three nights of stand-up to the storied estate – and luckily for you, there’s still time to grab a ticket.
Local favourite Jim Smith kicks things off on Friday. “It’s special to start a festival on home turf,” he says. “I can swap farm boots for the mic, then be home in time to feed the cows.” Saturday brings the quick wit of Russell Kane; Sunday rounds off with stand-up star Ed Byrne and Dublin’s own Dylan Moran, best known as Bernard Black in the cult TV show Black Books.
They’re joined by a stacked support bill: Susie McCabe, Jojo Sutherland, Craig Hill, TikTok favourite Connor Burns, Gareth Waugh, Ray Bradshaw, Kai Humphries, Liam Farrelly and more than a dozen other Scottish comics will keep the laughs rolling between the headliners. Whether you’re a fan of observational comedy, dry wit, or belly-laugh-inducing absurdity, this festival has something for every sense of humour.
Between sets, you can graze at street-food stalls, sample Scottish gin and craft beer, and still keep an eye on the stage. What’s not to love?
The event is 18+ and only a few tickets remain (from £32.40). Book at patteratthepalace.co.uk.
