Looking for things to do in Glasgow this June? Whether you’re a local or visiting for the weekend, The Reeling festival should be on your radar. Taking place from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 June 2025 at Rouken Glen Park, it’s one of Scotland’s most exciting folk festivals – blending traditional music, street food, family-friendly activities and more.
Now in its second year, The Reeling has grown into a full three-day event. To help you plan your weekend, we asked festival founder Michael Pellegrotti to share his top five highlights from this year’s line-up.

1. Tide Lines – headlining Friday night
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Tide Lines for their biggest headline show to date,” says Michael.
Their new album, Glasgow Love Story, is a tribute to the city, making this the perfect act to launch the festival’s brand-new Friday night. If you’re into powerful lyrics and emotional performances, don’t miss them. It’s one of the standout gigs of the summer.
2. The Weeling – a brand new space for families
Looking for family-friendly things to do in Glasgow this June? Enter The Weeling.
This new part of the festival runs on Saturday and Sunday and is made especially for little ones. Expect crafts, music, ceilidhs, and relaxed zones – perfect for younger children and tired parents. Kids under five go free, and there’s a drop-in policy for families heading home early.
3. The Roll Shop – exclusive food collab
Scotland’s street food scene shows up in style at The Reeling, but one pop-up stands out.
The Roll Shop is a one-off collaboration between Café Cùil and the food writer behind That’s Yer Dinner. From Skye Crab Rolls to Haggis Chopped Cheese, plus a Cranachan Donut, this menu is built for foodies. It’s comforting, creative, and absolutely worth the queue.
4. An epic food line-up
The food offering at The Reeling just keeps getting better.
Alongside last year’s favourites like Dough Man’s Land, Screaming Peacock and Rost, you’ll also find newcomers like MacLove, Shawarmarama, and Yu-ca-taco. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or all about bold flavour, you’ll eat well here.
5. Birch Coffee is back
Need a caffeine hit between sets? You’re in luck.
Birch Coffee is returning with even more machines and baristas to meet demand. Founded by Niall Munro, son of Runrig’s Donnie, this Highlands-based coffee company serves up some of the best brews in Scotland. Grab a flat white and recharge in style.
