If the smell of summer could be bottled—or better yet, poured into a jar—it would probably be something like this. Think sun-warmed citrus, salty sea air, and the soft sweetness of wildflowers. And now, you can create your own version of that memory at a one-day-only candle making workshop hosted by Laura Thomas Co.
Taking place at Moleta Munro in Edinburgh on Saturday 17th May, this pop-up event offers fragrance lovers a chance to blend their own custom candle from a palette of summer-inspired scents. It’s a hands-on experience, guided by Laura Thomas herself, founder of the sustainable lifestyle brand known for its plant-based formulas and coastal calm aesthetic.

Whether you’re into warm, beachy notes or something a little fresher for balmy city evenings, Laura will be on hand to help you balance top, heart, and base notes to create a candle that feels like your summer in scent form.
Each attendee will walk away with their own 8.5oz candle made from 100% soy wax, a cotton wick, and natural fragrances—all presented in a reusable glass jar that burns for up to 35 hours. So you can take that summer feeling home, long after the event ends.
As part of the workshop, guests will also get a first look at the new summer collection from Laura Thomas Co., including:
- A lightweight, oversized beach towel
- A colourful woven clutch (ideal for evening spritzes)
- A rattan-style picnic basket
- A travel-friendly citronella candle to keep bugs at bay
There’ll also be refreshments to keep things relaxed. Morning sessions come with tea, coffee, and light snacks, while afternoon guests can enjoy fizz, mocktails, and a few bites to graze on.
“I love how scent can hold memories,” says Laura. “Summer gives us all a reason to pause, connect, and savour. Helping people bottle that feeling into something they’ve made themselves feels really special.”
