Strathberry,  the Edinburgh-based luxury brand worn frequently by the Princess of Wales, has introduced a new collection of silk scarves that pay tribute to Edinburgh’s rich architecture and culture.

Collaborating with Edinburgh College of Art, this design project represents Strathberry’s commitment to supporting young talent and education in the creative industries.

This collaboration follows the success of a previous partnership between Strathberry and the university in 2021. It also coincides with the debut of Strathberry’s Autumn exhibition series at the Edinburgh Townhouse, the brand’s headquarters and showroom within a gorgeous Georgian building in the West End.

As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Strathberry decided to highlight its Scottish roots and passion for promoting creativity. Textile students were given the opportunity to freely express their vision, resulting in a dynamic and diverse range of designs.

Among the standout prints, Jessica Turley’s creations were chosen for their originality and sophistication. Inspired by Edinburgh’s historic landmarks, her designs are vibrant and colourful, with a striking colour palette that captures the essence of the city.

The silk scarves, handcrafted with great attention to detail, feature playful and bold patterns. Created using digital techniques, the designs adorn both skinny and square scarves, offering versatility for different styling preferences.

For Jessica Turley, this collaboration marks an exciting entry into her career as a textile designer. She said: “Working with Strathberry has been an amazing experience. I love that Strathberry really encouraged us to be as creative and free as possible. It’s so refreshing for a brand to be so open to young designers’ ideas.”

Leeanne Hundleby, Strathberry’s Creative Director, emphasised the brand’s enthusiasm for working with the university and supporting local talents, “We’re thrilled to be working with Edinburgh College of Art again on this wonderful project and thoroughly look forward to seeing the creativity and innovative ideas brought by the students every year. As a brand we feel proud to support the amazing talents in our hometown and flourishing creative industries. This is a very special project which we are passionate to continue, endorsing education in the arts and design for emerging young talents.”
