Strathberry’s collaboration with Shrimps is the talk of two towns… here’s how Edinburgh met London for the capsule collection all the it-girls will be wearing this autumn.
I’ve always loved a bit of Shrimps—their playful, kitsch vibe has had me hooked since they entered the scene in 2013 and became the go-to for the It-Brit crowd. I mean, everyone from Alexa Chung to Pixie Geldof to Lily Allen—basically my teenage-year style muses—were spotted in their pieces.
I’ve had my eye on one of their tartan winter coats for ages (might need to resume my eBay, Depop, and Vinted search for one this year).
So imagine my excitement when I heard they’ve taken their love for Scottish design one step further by teaming up with Strathberry, Scotland’s most iconic handbag brand, for a limited-edition capsule collection.
And spoiler alert, it’s seriously gorgeous.
This isn’t Shrimps’ first foray into Scottish collaborations either. Earlier this year, they partnered with Kinloch Anderson, a heritage brand famed for its craftsmanship in Highland Dress and tartan.
Together, they created the swoon-worthy Anya Skirt—a true fusion of Kinloch Anderson’s centuries-old tradition with Shrimps’ modern, whimsical charm. The Anya Skirt featured intricate kilt pleats, bold colours, and even a playful pocket, all tied together with the expert tailoring that Kinloch Anderson is revered for.
That brings us to their latest collaboration. Strathberry’s team, drawn to Shrimps’ distinctive feminine designs and creativity, approached Hannah Weiland, Shrimps’ founder and creative force behind the brand, with the idea of a collaboration.
As Hannah explains, “Working with Leeanne and the team at Strathberry has been an absolute joy. By combining our creative visions, we’ve created a truly special collection that celebrates exceptional craftsmanship and design-driven storytelling.”
Designed by Weiland, the collection beautifully marries Shrimps’ retro-chic aesthetic with Strathberry’s sleek, structured handbags. Picture the iconic Strathberry Music Bar reimagined with Shrimps’ signature faux pearls, crochet detailing, and embroidered daisies—this is a collection that’s as collectible as it is covetable. The best-selling Mosaic Nano and Lana Osette bags have been given a whimsical twist, with braided handles and floral motifs that elevate them to little works of art.
Leeanne Hundleby, Strathberry’s co-founder, said: “I’ve been a fan of Shrimps for a long time, and I admire Hannah’s creativity and fun-loving approach to design. I love her fresh take on our signature designs and how we’ve been able to bring both brands’ aesthetics together.”
With silk scarves, cardholders, and pouches rounding out the collection, both brands’ meticulous craftsmanship shines through in every piece. Whether you’re after a statement mini-bag or something a little more subtle, this capsule taps into that perfect balance of fun and femininity. Edinburgh and London may be two different worlds, but in this collection, they’ve come together in the most stylish way possible.
