Why Jupiter Artland’s Winter Series is top of our festive to-do list

If you’re looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life this winter, Jupiter Artland is launching a magical new Winter Series that promises to transport you into a festive wonderland.

The award-winning contemporary sculpture park, nestled just outside of Edinburgh, is opening its doors to a range of art experiences, seasonal lunches, and family-friendly festive activities, running from 25th October through to 20th December.

Whether you’re after an exclusive dinner in their ballroom, a live nativity, or a creative wreath-making workshop, there’s something to make everyone’s winter just that little bit more magical.

A taste of the season at Café Party

One of the highlights of the Winter Series is the decadent lunches hosted at Café Party, open for the first time during the autumn and winter months, until 1st December. Dishes are crafted by award-winning Executive Chef David Millar, celebrating the finest seasonal produce. Whether you’re gathering friends for a leisurely afternoon or planning a special occasion, these lunches offer a true taste of the season in classic Jupiter Artland fashion.

With a café booking, visitors can also take in the park’s latest art installation by Glasgow-based artist Kialy Tihngang in the Steadings Gallery, whose multidisciplinary work blends dark humour with retrofuturism and Nollywood influences. Her installation, Neyinka and the Silver Gong, explores themes of Blackness, queerness, and Britishness through a speculative story set on a Scottish island. With a mix of art and cuisine, dining at Café Party makes for a truly immersive experience.

Winter workshops & festive fun

Looking to get hands-on with your festive décor? Jupiter Artland’s Winter Series also includes a range of workshops led by their Head Groundsman, Thomas Unterdorfer. From wreath-making using materials gathered from the park’s grounds to masterclasses on creating stunning table and mantle arrangements, these workshops will add a personal touch to your holiday celebrations. Nothing says Christmas like gathering with friends over mince pies and warm drinks while crafting your own bespoke festive wreath.

And if you’re planning your December calendar, don’t miss Jupiter Artland’s much-loved Christmas Fair, returning on the 7th and 8th of December. With artisan stalls offering a unique selection of gifts, mulled wine, and festive treats, it’s the perfect place to tick off your shopping list while soaking up the festive atmosphere. Plus, with live music, a Nativity Scene, and even Jupiter’s very own festive donkeys, it’s a magical experience for the whole family.

A Winter Wonderland like no other

For those looking to go all out this festive season, Jupiter Artland’s Winter Wonderland lunches and dinners are set to be a luxurious highlight. Hosted in the elegant Ballroom, these festive feasts, crafted by Executive Chef David Millar, will offer eight courses of meticulously prepared seasonal dishes served by a roaring fire. It’s the ultimate winter dining experience—cosy, decadent, and undeniably festive.

Nicky Wilson, Director of Jupiter Artland, sums it up perfectly: “We are delighted that as the park sleeps ahead of next spring, we have so many ways you can enjoy all that Jupiter Artland has to offer this festive and autumnal season. There’s something for everyone—from delicious food to incredible art and creative workshops. We look forward to welcoming everyone.”
