Luxury fashion shoppers in Edinburgh are in for a treat as Gucci, one of the world’s most iconic fashion brands, sets its sights on a new venture.

The Italian fashion powerhouse has officially applied for planning permission to undertake a £750,000 shop fitout across two units at 13-15 Multrees Walk & 24 Elder Street, EH1 3DX.

The plan includes renovating and upgrading the current Hugo Boss and Caffe Nero spaces to create a stylish and inviting store for fans of the brand. The application for Gucci in Edinburgh, validated in late December, is currently awaiting assessment.

This move marks Gucci’s first standalone fashion and accessories store in Scotland, adding an extra layer of anticipation for fashion-forward Scots. While the application is under assessment, more details are expected to be unveiled in the spring.

For those looking for their fashion fix sooner, Harvey Nichols, Gucci’s esteemed neighbour just a stone’s throw away, offers a selection of Gucci items to satiate your designer cravings.

This exciting development comes amidst Multrees Walk’s recent enhancements, solidifying its status as Edinburgh’s premier luxury shopping destination.

The renowned Louis Vuitton store has recently undergone a significant expansion, doubling in size from 3,072 square feet to over 6,500 square feet. Having been a cornerstone of Multrees Walk for over two decades, Louis Vuitton’s growth reflects both local and international demand, coupled with a resurgence in travel and tourism.

The expansion signifies the thriving retail environment at Multrees Walk, with plans to continue evolving by welcoming more high-end luxury retailers in the near future.

In addition to Louis Vuitton’s expansion, the Mulberry store at Multrees Walk has undergone a refurbishment, showcasing Mulberry’s lifestyle offering in a fresh and contemporary environment. The store’s design, conceptualised by interior designer Faye Toogood, draws inspiration from the painterly qualities of British landscapes and features strong yet simple geometric forms.
