Edinburgh is a city that boasts a rich cultural heritage, stunning architecture and scenic landscapes. But this summer, it also offers a taste of Parisian elegance and glamour, thanks to four brands and experiences that have set up shop in the Scottish capital. Here are some of the highlights of this Franco-Scottish fusion.

Chanel has launched its first ephemeral boutique in Scotland, showcasing the Métiers d’art 2022/23 collection along with a range of watches, fine jewellery, fragrance, and beauty products. The temporary store occupies three floors of a historic building on Charlotte Square, which has been transformed with Chanel’s signature style. The neo-classical sandstone townhouse features black and beige accents, tweed furniture, contemporary artwork, floral arrangements, and antiques.

This boutique also celebrates Coco Chanel’s connection with Scotland, where she had a long-term relationship with the 2nd Duke of Westminster in the 1920s and 1930s, and drew inspiration from his tweed clothing that he wore on his highland estates to create her own collections. Coco would later begin using it for sporting outfits, suits and coats; and soon her signature tweed emerged.
