Notting Hill’s Eggbreak takes over The Spence for August

Eggbreak’s rich and creamy Turkish Eggs served in a cast iron dish with dill yoghurt, smoked paprika oil, and a side of golden toasted bread. This brunch classic is one of the signature dishes available during the brand’s Edinburgh residency.

This August, Edinburgh welcomes a slice of London brunch culture, as cult favourite Eggbreak arrives at The Spence, inside Gleneagles Townhouse. From 2nd–30th August, the glass-domed dining room on St Andrew Square will serve a special month-long menu of Eggbreak’s signature dishes – bringing a little Notting Hill flair to the Festival season.

Known in London for its comfort-first food and queues down the street, Eggbreak’s residency at The Spence offers something a little more relaxed. No line, no wait — just bold breakfast plates served in one of the city’s most elegant settings.

A menu worth getting out of bed for

On weekdays from 7am–10.30am, a selection of Eggbreak favourites will join The Spence’s regular breakfast offering. Look out for the egg icon on the menu to spot them. Highlights include:

  • House Quinoa Granola with date yoghurt, orange and blueberries
  • Eggbreak Benedict, with poached eggs, brown butter hollandaise, Scottish smoked salmon or hardwood smoked bacon
  • Turkish Eggs with dill yoghurt, smoked paprika, and a cheese toastie on the side
  • Nutella French Toast, topped with Cornflakes and mascarpone

At weekends (8am–11am), the menu expands into full brunch territory. Dishes include:

  • Wilde’s Deli Sunrise Shakshuka, served with mustard salt beef toastie for dipping
  • Mexican Omelette with avocado, chilli, spring onion and feta
  • Ari’s Pancakes with banana, raspberries and salted caramel butter

The drinks list matches the mood

Expect Eggbreak’s signature hydrating teas (the berry and strawberry sunshine are bestsellers), plus iced matcha and all the usual favourites. It’s breakfast, but dialled up — flavour-forward, easygoing, and cool without trying too hard.

Free-range focus, with a local twist

Eggbreak serves over half a million eggs a year, sourced exclusively from free-range flocks at Fenton Farm — a supplier known for quality and sustainability. Here in Edinburgh, The Spence will serve Nith Valley eggs, while also spotlighting local suppliers: George Campbell & Sons for Glen & Co smoked salmon, and Raith Fruits for Perthshire berries.

“We’re bringing a little bit of Notting Hill to St Andrew Square during the festival,” says Ewan Grant, General Manager of Gleneagles Townhouse. “Fun, comforting — and effortlessly cool. For early birds, breakfast lovers, and those chasing the perfect yolk, this one’s worth getting out of bed for.”

Eggbreak at The Spence runs from 2nd–30th August 2025. To book, visit gleneaglestownhouse.com or call +44 (0)800 917 4655.
