Edinburgh’s bar scene just got a stylish upgrade with the launch of LOCHRIN, a sleek cocktail bar perched on the top floor of the Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge in Freer Gait, near the city centre.

Following a significant investment, this lavish, moody, and opulent spot is set to become the go-to for locals and visitors alike.

Step inside and immerse yourself in the bar’s dark green and red hues, reminiscent of a speakeasy gentleman’s club. The warm, cosy, and elegant vibe makes it the perfect place to unwind. Head outside to the terrace for stunning rooftop views across Edinburgh’s skyline, including the iconic castle.

Named after an 18th-century gin distillery founded by James Haig, Lochrin pays homage to the industrial heritage of Fountainbridge. This historical nod adds a layer of depth to the experience, blending the old with the new in a unique setting.

“We’ve invested heavily into creating something very different for Edinburgh,” says Wayne Androliakos, Regional Director of Operations. “Once you step out of the lift and onto the 6th floor, guests will be transported to an eclectic bar where they can enjoy their choice of drinks while soaking in the incredible views across the city. With summer on the horizon, now is the perfect time to launch it.”

The bar’s highly skilled mixologists have curated specialty cocktails that celebrate Edinburgh’s rich history. Complementing the drinks are small foodie tapas-style plates and meat or cheese sharing boards. The extensive collection of rare and aged Scotch whiskies, local gins, craft beers, wines, and champagnes ensures there’s something for every palate.

During the week, enjoy a chilled and relaxed atmosphere that transforms into a vibrant scene on weekends with live events showcasing local talent. On select dates, guests can also enjoy black and white movies and iconic Scottish films on the built-in cinema screen. Plus, Lochrin Bar is available for exclusive bookings, making it an ideal spot for private events.
